Karl is a qualified bodyguard with more than 10 years of experience, working in VIP, executive and witness protection, in South Africa. Karl is also a martial arts, weapons and defensive tactics Instructor, with more than 20 years of training experience. Students of Karl include members of the South African Police Service, bodyguards, door supervisors, and security specialists. He has trained people internationally including in the United Kingdom, where he trained international cabin crew as a certified IATA defensive tactic's instructor. Karl is a qualified New Zealand accredited conflict management instructor with 8 years of experience, having trained thousands of people entering the security industry in New Zealand. This included the mandatory requirements for security officers to receive their NZQA unit standards. Karl has level 2, 3, and 4 (ongoing) qualifications in the security industry, as well as adult education level 3 and unit standard 4098. He is also a security consultant and has designed procedures and conflict management workshops for clients including banks and casinos.
